Temporary Road Closures

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the District Council of Folkestone & Hythe in exercise of its power under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 intends to close the following lengths of roads to vehicles:-

Tritton Lane from its junction with Church Road to its junction with High Street between 18:00 hrs and 18:30 hrs

•

High Street from its junction with Tritton Lane to its junction with Victoria Street between 18:30 hrs and 19:00 hrs

•

Victoria Street from its junction with High Street to its junction with Church Road between 18:30 hrs and 19:00 hrs

•

Church Road from its junction with Victoria Street to its junction with Church Approach between 18:30 hrs and 19:00 hrs

•

Church Approach from its junction with High Street to its junction with Church Road between 16:00 hrs and 20:00 hrs

The temporary closure of the roads above will come into effect on Friday 12th December 2025.

The temporary closure of the road is necessary to allow the event ‘Light Up New Romney Community Lantern Parade 2025’ to take place without endangering road users.

Pedestrians will not be affected by the provisions of the temporary closure and access for vehicles will be allowed up to the point of closure.
