New Romney Town Council is not a local Planning Authority. Therefore, it does not make any decisions regarding local planning applications. The Town Council is, however, a consultee and Folkestone and Hythe District Council, which is, in fact, the local Planning Authority, does, therefore, seek the Town Council’s opinion in regard to local planning applications. The Town Council can only put forward its recommendations – which must be based on Planning Policy only – and it is the District Council that makes all planning decisions.
All planning applications for the parish of New Romney can be viewed on the Folkestone & Hythe District Council website or, alternatively, hard copies can be viewed at New Romney Town Hall by prior arrangement.
