Local COVID update - still high rate

KEEP FOLLOWING THE LOCKDOWN RULES TO KEEP PROTECTING YOURSELVES, YOUR FAMILIES, YOUR COMMUNITY, AND THE NHS!

The New Romney area remains a high area of infection in Kent, and we must all play our part in trying to stop it spreading.

Last week in New Romney, there were 66 confirmed cases which equates to 894.1 cases per 100,00 people - well above the national average (source: https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/interactive-map). It is still vitally important that we all follow the Lockdown rules https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-lockdown-stay-at-home , to try to halt the spread, and also to protect our hospitals from getting overwhelmed. Stay at home if you can, but if you do have to go out, practice social distancing, handwashing and wearing your mask.

Do your bit, and get tested, if you leave the house for work or essential activities, even if you are symptom free https://www.kent.gov.uk/.../test.../symptom-free-testing... so that you don't unknowingly spread it in the community. as soon as we have information on local vaccination centres we will share it with you.
