URGENT UPDATES RE: COVID-19 VACCINATION PROGRAMME

Published: 20 January 2021

We have received this communication from Lisa Barclay - Invicta Health Ops Manager ...
Please be aware that we are currently unable to provide transport from the main road to the Airport Terminal due to technical difficulties. Where possible we would ask patients and relatives to support with transport needs or for patients to seek alternative mode of transport eg taxi. We understand that a number of taxi firms are offering reduced rates. The voluntary sector have limited availability and are initially supporting clients that they know have no alternative mode of transport or support. We are working closely with our colleagues at KCC to provide transport support over the coming weeks and for the duration of the Vaccination programme.
If you know of or are unable to arrange transport to the vaccination site in this initial phase, please do not worry we will contact you as further arrangements are made. We are expecting a regular supply of vaccine over the coming weeks.
We are adding further appointments to our Friday clinic this week and will also be running clinics over the weekend. If you know of relatives/friends or neighbours that are either over 80 or in 75-80 group please can you ask them to check any messages on mobiles or home telephones.
On arrival at the site you will be met by one of our volunteer colleagues who will ask you some questions to check that you are not unwell in any way. If we are concerned that you are unwell we will ask you to return home and book a test.
The set up of the vaccination programme has been rapid and we accept access to the venue is challenging for some of our population. We are working hard with our KCC and other voluntary sector partners to address this. Your patience is much appreciated at this time.
