Kent residents targeted by Royal Mail delivery scam

We have been sent the following alert from Kent County Council Public Protection:

"We have received further reports of residents in Kent being targeted by emails claiming to be from Royal Mail.

What happens:

• You receive an email claiming to be from Royal Mail.
• The email states a parcel is on the way and a shipping fee needs to be paid.

You are directed to a link to pay now.

What to do:

• This is a scam.
• Do not click on any links.
• Forward the email to report@phishing.gov.uk and delete the email.
• If you have fallen for this scam, contact Citizens Advice on 0808 250 5050.
