Town Council says 'Goodbye'

w Romney Town Council were sad to say a fond farewell to Mrs Marlene Worf, last week, as she retired from the position of Planning Clerk, that she has held for the last 19 years.

 

At an Especial Full Council meeting, on Monday 19th July, a surprise presentation was made, by The Right Worshipful the Mayor of New Romney, Cllr Paul Thomas, to Mrs Worf, of a Pride of New Romney Town Council certificate, flowers and gifts. She was thanked for her long and dedicated service to the Town Council, and was assured that she had left big shoes to fill!

Marlene has served with 8 different New Romney Town Mayors over her time as Planning Clerk, and said that she has found the job a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting one.

The Town Council now welcomes Mrs Gemma Hall to take over as the new Planning Clerk.
