We have received the following message from National Highways...
"A259 Brenzett to Rye – overnight closures for resurfacing update
Following feedback from the local community, we decided to move our final phase of resurfacing on the A259 between Brenzett and Rye to the new year. This means we’ll soon be returning to finish this essential work.
As you’re aware, we’re also using the closures as an opportunity to replace and improve the road signs and markings along the road.
We’ll restart our work on the evening of Monday 22 January.
To minimise disruption, we’ll continue to work overnight between the hours of 9pm and 6am only, when there are fewer vehicles on the road. During the day we will keep the road open as usual.
Monday 22 to Friday 26 January: the A259 will be closed at its junction with Camber Road and west to where it passes over the River Rother, from 9pm to 6am each night.
During these closures, a diversion will be in place going in both directions via A2070, A292, A28, A262, A229 and A268.
Please note that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. We’ll post details of any changes or additional closures on our webpage:

Access for businesses and residents
For businesses and residents within the closure area, access will be maintained to your properties. Please approach the closure point for an escort. This is for access only.
