Lighting the Way for New Romney

A new beacon has today been installed on The Greens, at Littlestone. This replaces the one installed for the Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee in 2002, which had succumbed to the vagaries of age and the weather. The bespoke new beacon, made of Stainless Steel by Cranbrook Iron, features plaques of the New Romney ship crest and the Cinque Ports crest on the fire basket.We will look forward to the first opportunity to light it at the New Romney D-Day 80 Commemoration on 6th June 2024.
