Roadworks in Station Road, New Romney

Published: 04 June 2024

We have received the following notification of roadworks in Station Road, from Network Utilities:

Important Information We are carrying out Streetworks in your area

How will this affect me? We will do everything we can to minimise disruption as we dig trenches, install our cables and put-up temporary safety barriers on the footpaths. On the day we pass your property/business, there may be limited access between 8.00am – 5.00pm. Our contractors may also ask you to move your car if it’s parked close to where we are working.

How long will the works take? We intend to start on the 13th of June to 19th June 2024. Should this need to be extended we will letter drop again. We will be digging on Station Road, there will be temporary lights be place, and they will be manned from 7am to 7pm. All works will be completed under a Traffic Mgt set up. Accesses to business premises will be plated for safety if needed.

If something isn’t right, who do I raise it with? Our build crews will always keep mess to a minimum and clean up once they have finished. All street works are carried out to high standards and will be inspected once finished. When we lay our infrastructure, we have to go around existing utilities in the ground. We try to be as neat as possible, and the new tarmac will fade with time to be less obvious.

If you have any concerns, these should be raised with on-site teams when possible. Usually, a site supervisor will resolve the issue there and then – we find this generally offers the fastest resolution to any concerns.

We will keep all residents and relevant council members updated with the progression of the works and issues, if any we may encounter. We appreciate your patience and will complete the works as quickly as possible.
