Carriageway resurfacing - night works

What we plan to do and why

As part of the ongoing maintenance works to maintain and improve the highway network in Kent, we will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing on Dymchurch Road, New Romney junction with St Mary's Road, Outside The Plough Inn. Postcode: TN28 8UF ///rivals.enthused.snaps

These works are required to repair carriageway potholes, to maintain the integrity of the surface, to stop water ingress into the road and to alleviate further deterioration of the carriageway surface.

The road will need to be closed to carry out these works safely. Access to properties and businesses will generally be maintained throughout the works. However, it may be necessary to restrict vehicular access to individual properties for short periods.

Via Dymchurch Road (A259), High Street (A259), Hythe Road (A259), Scanlons Bridge, London Road (A261), Ashford Road (A20), Barrow Hill (A20), Main Road (A20), Hythe Road (A20), A20 A2070 M20 J10a Roundabout, Link Road Between Junction 10a M20 To A2070, Bad Munstereifel Road (A2070), Bad Munstereifel Slip West Bound Off, Hythe Road Roundabout, Hamstreet Bypass,A2070 From Ashford Road To District Boundary, A2070 Rhee Wall To Ashford Road, A259 J A2070/B2080 Roundabout, Rhee Wall Roundabout (A259), Rhee Wall (A259), Lydd Road (A259) and vice-versa.

When we plan to carry out the work and how long it will take

These works will start on Monday, 27th of October 2025 and should be completed in up to 3 nights, weather permitting. Works are scheduled to be carried out between the hours of 20.00 and 06:00 to minimise inconvenience, congestion and traffic delays as far as practicable. Our intention is to complete the most disruptive parts of the works as quickly as possible within this timeframe.

How you can help

We need your help to make sure the work is done as quickly and efficiently as possible. If your vehicle is usually parked on the road, please make sure you park it somewhere else, away from the site whilst these works are carried out, so the road is clear for us to repair. Your patience and co-operation whilst these works are undertaken will be greatly appreciated.
