Temporary Road Closures & 20mph speed limits

Because of a program of carriageway patching and preservation works, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Folkestone & Hythe, as per the schedule below.
This Order takes effect on or after 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. Road closures and other restrictions will be in effect when the appropriate signage and barriers are in place.
SCHEDULE
Forge Hill, Acrise
Between the junctions of Oak Hill and Ladwood.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Oak Hill and Ladwood.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Forge Hill, Hoad Road, A260 Canterbury Road, Coach Road, Oak Hill and vice versa.
St Marys Road, Dymchurch & Newchurch
From outside number 40/42 to the junction of Unnamed Road.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed from outside number 40/42 to the junction of Unnamed Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Road, A259 High Street, A259 Dymchurch Road, St Marys Road and vice versa.
Hook Wall, Brookland
Between the junctions of Clubbs Lane and Ashentree Lane.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Clubbs Lane and Ashentree Lane.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Clubbs Lane, Boarmans Lane, Barnhouse Lane, Ashentree Lane and vice versa.
Hope All Saints, St Mary In The Marsh
Between the junctions of Ashford Road and Hope Lane.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Ashford Road and Hope Lane.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via
Ashford Road, Cockreed Lane, Hope Lane and vice versa.
High Minnis, Stelling Minnis
Between the junctions of Mockbeggar and Droveway.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Mockbeggar and Droveway.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mockbeggar, B2068 Stone Street, Curtis Lane, Bossingham Road, Wheelbarrow Town and vice versa.
Tanners Hill, Hythe
Between the junctions of Castle Road and North Road.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Castle Road and North Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Castle Road, Hillcrest Road, North Road, Barrack Hill, A261 London Road, A259 Military Road, A259 Rampart Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Prospect Road, A259 East Street Roundabout, Station Road and Tanners Hill.
Longage Hill, Lyminge
Between the junctions of Brady Road and Green Lane.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Brady Road and Green Lane.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Minnis, Mockbeggar, B2068 Stone Street, Farthing Common, Loughborough Lane, Broad Street. Station Road And Canterbury Road.
Bargrove, Newington
Between the junctions of Blackhouse Hill and A20 Ashford Road.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Blackhouse Hill and A20 Ashford Road.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A20 Ashford Road, A20 Sandling Road, Sandling Road, The Green, Brockhill Road, Hillcrest Road, North Road, Barrack Hill, A261 London Road, A259 Military Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Rampart Road, A259 Prospect Road, A259 East Street Roundabout, Station Road and Blackhouse Hill.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Blackhouse Hill, Station Road, A259 East Street Roundabout, A259 Prospect Road, A259 Rampart Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Dymchurch Road, A259 Scanlons Bridge, A261 London Road, Barrack Hill, North Road, Hillcrest Road, Brockhill Road, The Green, Sandling Road, A20 Sandling Road and A20 Ashford Road.

Between the junctions of Bargrove and Cliff Road.
A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Bargrove and Cliff Road.
