New Romney Town Council serves the residents of the Parish of New Romney. The Town Council's main role is to act in the interests of the parish and its residents by making decisions and recommendations that help to improve the local environment and the quality of life of local residents. The Council works in partnership with other organisations, as appropriate, including other tiers of Local Government as well as voluntary and community organisations.

It has been necessary to close Dengemarsh Road, Lydd from 16th February 2026 for up to 3 days. The road is closed at between Dengemarsh Farm and junction with Tourney Road.
