New Romney Town Council serves the residents of the Parish of New Romney. The Town Council's main role is to act in the interests of the parish and its residents by making decisions and recommendations that help to improve the local environment and the quality of life of local residents. The Council works in partnership with other organisations, as appropriate, including other tiers of Local Government as well as voluntary and community organisations.

New Romney Annual Town Meeting

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Town Meeting of New Romney will be held on TUESDAY 21ST APRIL 2026 commencing at 7.00 pm, in the Maude Community Hall, Station Road, New Romney. Such persons only that are registered as Local Government Electors of the Town of New Romney will be entitled to vote at this Meeting, but the Meeting will be open to the public during the proceedings unless the Town Meeting otherwise directs. Notices of the Meeting, including the nature of the business to be transacted thereat, will be posted in the Town not less than seven days before the day of the meeting. If any Local Government Elector registered in the Parish of New Romney wishes to raise any agenda item at this meeting, notification of such must be received by the Town Clerk by 12.00 noon on Tuesday 14th April 2026. Temporary Road Closures

Due to works planned to be undertaken by Openreach, it will be necessary to close part of Ashford Road, Brenzett, from 11th June 2026 with estimated completion by 12th June 2026. Ashford Road, Brenzett, will be closed outside Dolly Plum Cottage, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. Read More...
